    Decided to move our blogging platform. I just don’t have enough time and effort to maintain a WordPress blog. When the decision is made at where i would like to transfer this site to — you will AUTOMATICALLY be updated and rerouted (;

  • Snow Day.

    0

    Woke up this morning to an ugly lovely suprise! SNOW! Sanaiyah loves snow so when i woke up this morning i knew i had an “adventurous” day with her. The weather change was highly unexpected so imagine the road conditions. I took me 2 hours to get to her father’s house this morning when normally my commute is only 15 minutes tops. But in the end i’m eternally grateful that we made it back safe and got to play outside and put the SLR to use (;

  • Christmas 2010.

    0

    Merry Christmas! I can’t believe this is Sanaiyah’s 3rd Christmas. I honestly belive i was more “excited” about it this year than her since she still doesn’t know the concept of what Christmas really is. I was more excited to find out what she would be getting and watching her open her own presents.

    Sanaiyah got to spend Christmas Eve with her dad and his family and i ended up getting her Christmas Day, which works out since we celebrate Christmas differently. So in the end it all worked out for the best (;

  • Black Friday Haul.

    2

    I ended up getting items for Sanaiyah even though i told myself NOT THIS YEAR. Unfortunately, i fell victim to the prices and couldn’t say “no“. To find items that you like / love for more than half off is always a plus and honestly the BEST time to shop for your little ones is when the items are on sale. Why?

    • They grow, wayyyyyyyyy to fast.
    • The markup on children’s clothes are ridiculous. Especially when they only wear it for a couple months.
    • Oh did i say they grow way to fast?

    Well back to the haul. I ended up getting items at Old Navy for boo. I love Old Navy for Sanaiyah since they come from the same manufacturer as GAP. The only difference? Tags and logos. So ended up getting all her items in a size to 2 sizes to big just so that i can see her utilize these for next winter also (hopefully!).

    I love all the finds. The quality is SUPERB and i’m glad i ended up waiting for Black Friday to get these. I ended up getting all her items for around 40%-60% off with an additional 10% off. and free shipping. Resulting into steals. So as listed in the image above – here’s the details.

    • Hooded Tie-Sweater Belt in Heather Grey: $24.50 $15.00. Made out of 100% Cotton. Short sleeved with a sewn on belt and hoodie to keep the little ones head warm. I love this and plan on pairing this with some leggings and a long sleeve shirt underneath with some cute booties.
    • Mock-Neck Cardigan in White: $24.50 $15.00. Made out of 100% heavyweight cotton. Rib-knit with a mock-neck and double-button closure long sleeve. Very durable to the feel. Although the color in my eyes isn’t white, it’s still a very soft cream and i love it. The sleeves are extremely long since i did buy this in a size to big but even when i roll it up it’s adorable. She can wear this now as a sweater dress and a cardigan when she grows into it.
    • Zebra Print Boyfriend Cardigan in Cinder Smoke: $22.50 $10.00. Made out of 100% Cotton. V-neck opening and it worn to be baggy. The quality of this isn’t flimsy and can endure several washes and keep it’s fit very well. Since this item is ment to be worn baggy, i can put this on nai now, but the length is still too long. Maybe have to hold off on this til spring and try again.
    • Wool-Blend Prep Coat in Robbie: $34.50 $17.25. Made out of 50% Polyester and 50% Wool. This is by far my favorite item i purchased for boo. It’s made out of rich wool and the lining in polyester. So it’s not that cheap wool blended coats or the fleece material (i can’t stand). It has a rounded color with a 6 button double breasted front enclosure and even pockets. I am actually disappointed i didn’t purchase more. This will pair well in the winter for holiday dresses and dressier occasions.

    So basically all together, i spent around $50.00 for all of these heavy-duty, great quality clothes that will last longer than a “couple” of months. Although all of it cannot be put to use this very moment, a lot of them can and i can warp the style of them as a go.

    As a single mother, budgeting and getting the most bang out of your buck when it comes to your kids is a plus without robbing them of “quality” materials. So i am very happy with this small black friday purchase and am very happy with Old Navy’s quality of clothing.

    As most of you know, Sanaiyah is a character. The things she says, the things she does, they always end up with  me laughing so hard. She has amazing talents and always knows how to cheer me up on a gloomy day. So lately she’s been very much into “coloring” anything and everything and rarely do i give her a pen. She only plays with WASHABLE crayons and color wonder markers (you know the speciality markers by crayola that only show up on certain paper). So under careful observation, i let her color on my pad of paper with my pen since i was jotting down a to do list which she ended up ruining (;

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    We only ended up doing something very very low key this year and it mainly consisted of playing in her playroom (;

  • Fears.

    This morning, as i bundled up the little one and tossed her in the car to drop her off at her dads. We had a rough ride. Normally, Sanaiyah is an angel in the car. We sing our songs, dances to music, and points out everything she sees and waits for me to repeat it. But today was a little different.

    She woke up this morning with the sniffles. “Oh no! I really hope she’s not getting sick“, but of course we had to continue on with our morning. She seemed a little cranky but nothing out of the norm, since when i have to wake her up she’s snappy. Yeah the child does not like being woken up. So i get her in the car after fighting with her about how she can’t bring her crayons in the car, and hand her her horse instead. Got her buckled in and we’re off. Immediately the pointing starts. “MOMMMY! Wook! Twee! Car! Dry-bing! Boo-No (Ballons)! etc.) We hope on the freeway and halfway to our destination she starts to scream in cry. “MOMMYYYY BEE-GURRS! BEEGURRS! NOOO! BEEGURRS!” I look in my child safety mirror that allows me to see her fully and she’s pointing at the front of the car. I have no idea what bee-gurrs are and couldn’t figure out what she was trying to right off the bat. So i looked around and i figured she was trying to say “speakers” since we had music on. I turned it off and asked her if it was better. She starts bawling again and once again starts screaming, “MOMMYYYY BEE-GURRS! BEEGURRS! NOOO! BEEGURRS!” Now i’m starting to get a little anxious. Should i pull over and make sure she’s okay? What is she talking about?! On top of it all, i’m driving and i can barely comprehend what she’s saying since she’s crying in the mix with it all. So i ask her to calm down and to talk to Mommy. Tell me what’s wrong. She stops instantly and still holding her finger out she says, “Mommy. Bee-gurrs.” This time she’s staring at the tip of her finger. I continued to drive but was speed thinking, what’s bee-gurrs. what’s bee-gurrs… and then *TADA a lightbulb goes off in my head.

    Bee-gurrs = Boogars.

    Yeah. Boogars. I started to laugh, threw my hand back to her and picked off her little rolled up boogar on the tip of her finger. I threw it in a can i had left in my car and told her it was, “ALL GONE“. She started to examine her hand again and found more, so i had to remove them as i was driving until there was none left. So i guess she must have wiped her nose with her hand this morning and left a streak of boogars on her hands. With the boogars and the mix of being cranky, it didn’t play well.

    Basically, i find it amazing how children especially at Sanaiyah’s age start to learn fear. She’s normally pretty grossed out and scared of things that she doesn’t like, but who ends up teaching “fears” to these innocent little people? I never showed her that boogars are scary, and i’m pretty sure her dad too. As the months go by, i notice more fears arising. Now she doesn’t want to go in dark areas unless she holds hands with me, or if she sees a  bug she’ll get disgusted and hide. It was a random thought i had today and felt like sharing (:

  • Revamp & Repost.

    1

    After a year long haitus, i am now finally back. Within the last year so much has happened, in good and bad ways. But i am thankful to still have a beautiful, smart, and talented daughter who is now officially 2!

    With my comeback, i went ahead and decided to revamp this entire layout. Something more fresh for the new beginning. Also, please note that in the next few days i will be catching up within the last year of Sanaiyah’s life. So there will be multiple posts on here that will showcase what i’ve missed in order to catch up.

    I made this decision based on thinking what i would feel “most” comfortable with. If i leave out the whole year of Sanaiyah’s life, i feel as if i will never feel “complete” with my mission on this blog journey. So please note that there will be multiple posts on the same day just so i can finish and play the catch up.

    Once i am all caught up, i will be posting a lot more reviews and what not so stay tuned for that.

    For all you mommy bloggers out there, if you have a site for your child, please feel free to contact me & let me know if you want a link exchange review. Please note that i will be reviewing who has requests due to the fact that this has to be a FAMILY friendly blog.

    Thanks for understanding & i hope you all continue on to follow Sanaiyah’s journey through life :)
